What is Reiki? Can Reiki healing help me?
The Japanese word ‘Reiki’ literally translates as universal life force energy. This system of healing was developed by Mikao Usui the early 20th century. It is a non-invasive complementary therapy that has been taught and used in the UK since the late 1900s, however, eastern medicine has worked with this energy for thousands of years, recognising its flow through all living things.
The relaxing nature of Reiki can be very helpful at any time in our lives, especially when we feel overwhelmed or disconnected. Reiki treatments can bring feelings of peace and centeredness, along with the ability to cope with life's challenges. Following a Usui Reiki healing session, you can feel grounded yet energized in a way that you may not have experienced before. The first session usually brings improvement and the benefits grow with repeated sessions.
The Practitioner places their hands gently over the body; there is no massage or manipulation and it can also be given over a distance. Each Reiki healing is unique to the individual and may be experienced as a flow of energy, mild tingling, warmth or coolness, or you may simply experience a feeling of peace and relaxation.
